George R. Jensen, Jr. (BIO)

Mr. George R. Jensen, Jr., is currently Chairman & CEO of Jensen Ventures, Inc. Jensen Ventures, Inc. is primarily an acquisition, and energy related consulting firm. The company has successfully facilitated the closing of fuel commodity deals in excess of $ 5 billion dollars.

From August 2013 to 2014, Mr. Jensen was President of New Business for Lloyd Bancaire, a global $52 billion private equity firm based in Luxembourg.

From August 2012 to current, a Partner at Star Partners Inc, which is one of the most successful entertainment and sports financiers in the world. They have financed seventy three major feature films. There was a period of time when they financed all of the feature films at Warner Brothers ( 43 ), MGM, and United Artist. Such major motion picture films financed by Star Partners, Inc. include Rocky, the Superman movies , James Bond movies, Moonstruck, Thelma and Louise, The Right Stuff, The Color Purple, A Fish Called Wanda, and Broadway shows such as the hit Annie.

From March 2012 to August 2013, Mr. Jensen was a Partner with Blackhawk Partners, a New York City private equity firm.

From January 1992 to October 2011, Mr. Jensen was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of USA Technologies Inc., (NASDAQ – USAT), a world leader in providing innovative wireless and networked payment solutions to the vending, kiosk and unattended point-of-sale self-serve industries. With annual sales of $35 million, it became one of the fastest growing companies in America.

From 1985 to 1992, Mr. Jensen was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of American Film Technologies Inc., a film colorization company, which was the global leader in converting black and white movies to color. During his leadership, Mr. Jensen was awarded a $60 million contract from Ted Turner to convert over 200 black and white films to color, including Casablanca. He grew the company to more than 500 employees, and had net income of $3 million per year on $18 million of sales. During his six-year tenure, the company’s stock achieved over $150 million market capitalization.

From 1980 to 1985, Mr. Jensen was CEO and President of International Film Productions, Inc., where he was Executive Producer of the epic 12-hour television mini-series, Anno Domini. The $35 million production aired in primetime on NBC Network in 1985. The total investment by P&G to produce and air the epic mini-series was $50 million, the largest investment P&G has ever made in television.

Mr. Jensen was also the Executive Producer of the 1982 film special, A Tribute to Princess Grace, shown on public television. Nancy Reagan was the MC for the event.

Utilizing his network of high net worth angel investors and professional circle of people, Mr. Jensen has raised in excess of $250 million dollars for his various ventures, which created over 2,600 new jobs.

Ernst & Young named Mr. Jensen, “Entrepreneur of the Year” for the Philadelphia area in 1989. He is included in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry and Wikipedia Encyclopedia. He has done numerous TV, radio and print interviews including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and INC Magazine. His high school, Great Valley High School recently recognized him on their Wall of Fame.

Mr. Jensen received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Athletics:

  • Placed 1st in Freshman Indoor SEC Championship for the Shot Put in 1967.
  • Placed 2nd in SEC Championship for the Shot Put in 1968.
  • Placed 1st in Southeastern Championship ( SEC and ACC ) for the Shot Put in 1968.
  • Placed 5th in USTAF Championship for the Shot Put in 1968.
